My Style: Little Miss Sunshine

Today's Look:  features one of my favorite spring wardrobe additions, a Charlotte Russe sunflower printed crop-top.  When I first saw this top, it was love at first sight.  The happy colors of the flowers contrast against the dark brown and navy in the top, creating a beautiful combination!  I paired the flowy top with some high-waisted, acid washed shorts, taupe Litas, and an ivory kimono.  For accessories, I kept with the earthy vibe, adding multiple bracelets, infinity stud earrings, Tree of Life necklace, and tarnished gold rings.  My other favorite part of the outfit includes a vibrant, artsy cellphone case from Clique Shops.  Don't forget to use promo code "arizonagirl" to get 20% off any product from cliqueshops.com!  Next week will be the official start to my summer, so I will hopefully be sketching again. :)  Xoxo, Shelly

Beauty Tip:  Some of you have asked me how I do my hair, so here is my secret to obtaining the perfect curls. Instead of using the classic curling iron with a clasp, I use a curling wand.  I really like how the wand allows my curls to look more natural and have a beach wave appeal.  Normal curling irons are great at creating stiff ringlets, but I prefer soft, loose curls for everyday casual. Wands take a little getting use to, due to the fact that you have to be careful not to burn your fingers.  Once you get the hang of it, the curling wand is a miracle worker.  Specifically, I use the Plugged In Tourmaline Cone Curling Wand from Sally Beauty.

My Style: Daisy Dukes

Today's Look:  showcases a pair of acid wash cut-offs and a loose crop-top.  I love the flowy, flared cami in daisy-printed jersey knit, and I couldn't wait to add the daisy embroidered, high-waisted acid wash cut-offs and daisy stud earrings.  As you can tell for this spring, I am enjoying crop tops and shorts.  Making the outfit more tomboy chic, I wore simple, white Converse sneakers and edgy aviator sunglasses. I finished the look off by dressing up my phone in Clique's "Gold Dust (Clip Case)" which matched my gold accessories perfectly.  If you didn't notice, I kidnapped my brother's longboard as a photoshoot prop for fun.  And yes, I did try to cruise around a little bit, but let's be honest, I am no skater girl.  haha  Hope you all are having a wonderful, adventurous week!  Xoxo, Shelly

My Style: Back to Reality

Today's Look:  is all about enjoying a beautiful spring day.  I started the outfit by thinking of what to wear around town on a sunny, breezy day and the transition from festival wear to street style.  Now that Coachella is over, city slickers and suburbanites must go back to their day-to-day lives, leaving their boho-decked out selves behind.  I personally love both festival and street style, so I decided to make a look that transforms into each, wearing a bright pink crop-top and black, shredded cut-offs and styling them a little differently.  For the festival look, I wore a floral headband that I made and it was meant to be because it matched this beautiful Ali & Kris pullover to a T.  For the street style,  I put on the pullover and removed the floral crown.  Simple yet effective changes transform the look.  Of course, I had to add some edginess by wearing black, cut-out ankle boots and black galaxy nails.  Now, one of my personal styling philosophies is that a girl's phone should always be as fabulously dressed as she is.  For the perfect finishing touch, I turned my iPhone into a fashion accessory with a beautiful "Mini Dot Pink" case by Clique Fashion Case & Skin Boutique.  Hope you all had a wonderful Easter!  Xoxo, Shelly

Fashion Tip:  This spring, enjoy mixing different shades of one color.  In this look I had fun with different pinks throughout.  It makes a simple outfit more exciting!

My Style: Polka Dots & Chevron

Today's Look:  is all about a flirty, dotted chevron shift dress made of micro-satin.  Spring is definitely the season to wear fun dresses that flow, swirl, and attract.  This little gem is the perfect spring staple.  To complement the black polka-dotted, chevron print, I styled the dress with a black belt that has sparkly crystal embellishments.  The shoes are my one indulgent purchase for this photo shoot; how can a girl resist block heel sandals with ankle straps?  Literally impossible!  Besides feminine, flirty dresses and strappy sandals, spring is represented to me by two types of flowers--tulips and daffodils.  If you look carefully, you can see some of them peeking out in the background.  I couldn't resist showing off how beautiful the neighborhood looks in my recent photoshoots.  I hope you’re loving the season whatever it may be for you right now :) Xoxo, Shelly

Fashion Tip:  Adding a thin waist-belt to a simple shift dress not only adds a personal touch, but it also compliments the feminine figure.

My Style: Orange Crush

Today's Look:  is still about Coachella dreamin’.   The headlines are stating that Beyoncé and Gwen Stefani graced the stages at Coachella as a special surprise for attendees.  Well, if I can’t be there, at least I can still dress up and have fun like I'm at the music festival.  To begin, I chose a tribal patterned, swing crop top that matched my white-washed orange shorts.  Adding a little more of a 1970's feel, I wore woven stacked friendship bracelets and a crocheted purse. To stay protected from the sun, I wore a wide-brimmed hat and colorful, mirrored sunglasses featuring shades of orange and pink.  The gladiator sandals by Lucky Brand created a perfect last boho detail.  Obviously, I've been a little obsessed with Coachella and all the fashion trends that are created at the two weekend event--next year, I'm hoping to get a group together and go crazy :)  I better start saving up now...  Xoxo, Shelly

Fashion Tip:  On a sunny, warm day, a black, wide-brim hat not only adds style to an outfit, but also provides protection from the sun--perfect for long days out at festivals.
