Interning at Show Me Your Mumu Part II

Finding a great summer internship can be challenging but well worth the efforts! Once you land your dream gig, you work hard, you prove yourself through talent, and you keep a positive attitude. Inspiring work atmospheres with high energy vibes are one in a million. I was blessed to land an internship at Show Me Your Mumu this past summer, and it was absolutely amazing!

The internship was everything I had hoped for and more; a fast-paced, self-motivated, creative atmosphere with girl bosses (women of character, hard-working and goal-driven, mature and cooperative, leaders and team players, and chasers of success) galore . First off, Mumu HQ is in downtown Los Angeles in between the Art District and Fashion District, which is an incredible location. The inside layout is open, light infused, and decorated as a colorful bohemian paradise. As a “Mutern,” I worked closely with the social media guru Shannon, PR pro Molly, sales goddess Sara, and designer/PR genius Lauren. I assisted with all things social media, including content creation, marketing pitches, influencer outreach, graphic design, and much more. It was invigorating to be thrown in the middle of huge assignments and work as a part of the Mumu team!

I want to give a HUGE thank you to the two co-founders and creative directors Cammy and Cologne, who are indeed inspirational women/ total girl bosses. My summer adventure in Cali incorporated a lot of hard work, but I also enjoyed different tourist favorites like Hollywood, the Broad Museum, the Getty Museum, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Universal Studios, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica Beach, and Venice Beach. In SoCal, you work hard but you play hard too. So, I know many of you are interviewing for internships and I wish you luck. I will be graduating in May and must decide what to do with my life. Exciting times ahead! Xoxo, Shelly

  11. Wow you had a great opportunity! I'm really hoping I can land an internship this summer, but here in Argentina it's no that common to get interships, so I just can hope for the best and send a lot of resume copies to a lot of places haha.
