My Style: Three-Layer Rule

Have you ever felt frozen while outside and then melted from the heat while inside? I know I have; that's why it's important to wear layers in fall. With the weather getting chilly, the infamous cold and flu season comes along with it, which is a reason to bundle up. Another thing that comes along with the colder weather is indoor heating, which is why layers are key. I recommend a breathable top as your first layer. I chose a cute long-sleeved, mock turtleneck. A breathable top followed by a cozy sweater is the best second layer. For this look, I wore a beautiful chenille sweater. You can wear it if the wind picks up or the temperature drops, or tie it around your waist if the weather heats up a bit. Now, to stay warm, the third layer should be a jacket that you select based on the weather and temperature. I wore a fleece-lined denim jacket to stay toasty as the final layer. I styled the top layers with high-waisted black jeans and little blue booties. This look is for about 45-55 degree weather. As the weather heads towards winter conditions, such as freezing temperatures and snow blizzards, I would recommend a heavier, water-resistant coat, a warm scarf and gloves, heavy duty boots, leggings under your jeans, and a snug beanie or earmuffs. How do you layer during fall and winter? I would love to hear in the comments below. Xoxo, Shelly
