The month of July in America is all about celebrating freedom and independence. I searched for a location that might have some red, white, or blue, and maybe some stars. This little red barn was ideal. Funny thing is this barn has a past. Prescott, Arizona, is somewhat known for a few hauntings and paranormal activity at older places like the Palace Saloon, the Hotel Vendome, and the Hassayampa Inn. Tales of cowboys hung on gallows and women who died mysteriously, during the 1800s and early 1900s, abound, and you can even sign up for a haunted tour. Well, we asked for permission from the owner’s property manager to take some photos; they said yes but told us be careful not to move or touch anything. They left for the evening after telling us with a smile that the barn is one of the oldest structures in Prescott, so you’re bound to have a few spirits hanging around. About halfway through our shoot, we started hearing noises inside the barn, which was supposedly empty. I ignored it telling myself I was simply psyching myself out. But by the end of our 30-minute session, a radio started to play music from within the barn and I felt watched. We finished the shoot quickly and were happy to drive off. I’m not usually superstitious, but it was a little eery at that little red barn. My friends would just say “you need to stop watching so many scary movies.” haha They’re not wrong.

In spite of the mysterious music and creepy noises, the shoot was great, and I hope you like these photos as much as I do. This two-piece set is such a great addition for summer, and these comfy, quality sandals can’t be beat. Hope you are having a great week! Xoxo, Shelly
