Nothing better on a hot day than a photoshoot indoors. I think every creative has a story of being asked to leave or told “no photos!” Luckily, this isn’t one of those stories, but trust me I have them. I had fun shooting with my friend Colton (@engineer_and_camera) and being his test subject for a lens adaptor he’s reviewing on his channel. You can check out his video here. It was so hot outside and we thought home stores could be an interesting backdrop. Nervous we’d get asked to leave, we tried to be subtle but enjoyed experimenting and creating. The employees ended up not caring (at least the ones who saw us.) Haha This might not seem like an adventurous photoshoot compared to my recent travels, but Colton and I got a thrill--especially climbing up shelving and hoping not to get thrown out--sneaking around Home Depot, Lowe’s, At Home and Safeway stores for interesting angles and backgrounds. As you can tell from my blog and Instagram, I am a huge fan of outdoor photography; so is Colton, so an indoor photoshoot in a store was new territory for us. It’s good to go outside of your comfort zone and try new things! But stay inside during a heatwave. :)  Xoxo, Shelly
