My Style: Sequins in Scottsdale

Today's Look:  is all about the sequins!  I was spending the day shopping in Scottsdale, where the weather is beautiful at this time of year, so I decided to wear a skirt.  Since shopping involves a lot of walking, I wore my favorite black flats that are fashionable-yet-comfortable (a rare find).  The necklace matched the colors of the sequined skirt perfectly and pulled the outfit together.  To not take away attention from the skirt or necklace, I went with a simple off-white blouse that I tucked in.

Fashion Tip:  Short skirts have a thin line between being classy and being trashy. Personally, I have never seen a short, denim skirt that looked classy, so just be careful.

My Style: A Cozy Sweater on a Chilly Day

Today's Look:  is all about the vibrant, teal sweater.  I am in love with this sweater. Not only is it comfy and warm, but I also got it on sale. Score!  Today was overcast and windy, so a sweater was needed, but since it's still spring time, I wore sandals with rolled-up skinny jeans. To show off the gorgeous color of the sweater, I darkened the rest of the outfit by wearing a black undershirt, grey jeans, teal earrings, and of course my favorite Betsey bag.

Fashion Tip:  When wearing a baggy sweater or a loose fitting top, you should wear form fitting jeans.  Baggy pants with a baggy sweater is not attractive, nor is a loose top with bell bottoms.

My Style: Bold, Bright Colors, & Bling

Today's Look: is all about bold, bright colors and bling!  To celebrate a warm, beautiful spring day here in AZ, I chose to not wear boots.  I always wear boots...but since the weather is finally decent I decided to wear my Conncords. I am obsessed with how gorgeous these shoes are.  The shoes are definitely the statement piece of the outfit, so I went with a simple off-white blouse and light blue jeans.  I rolled up the pant legs of the jeans to make them more seasonal appropriate. To tie everything together, I wore a pink purse that matched the pink in the shoes.

Fashion Tip:  After winter has finally gone and spring has arrived, the trend always seems to be ankle pants.  Don't waste your money by buying pants that are flood ready. Instead, just roll your skinny jeans up a couple inches and voila`!  You're spring ready.

My Style: Black & White

Today's Look:  has light, feminine pieces mixed with dark, heavy pieces.  The white, lace top is long-sleeved with a peplum cut and sheer, so I wore a black spaghetti-strap tank underneath.  I chose black because it showed off the lace's floral pattern more than a light color tank top would have.  To go with the monochromatic theme, I paired the tops with charcoal skinny jeans and black military boots.

Fashion Tip:  If you feel like wearing black, add at least one article of clothing that isn't black into the outfit to soften the edgy look.

My Style: Sunflowers for a Sunny Day

Today's Look:  is all about the yellow.  I normally don't like the color yellow or any shade of it, but ever since I bought these mustard colored skinnies I have loved it.  Plus, yellow is perfect for spring time fashion.  To color match the jeans, I wore a shirt I found in my closet that had lace and sunflowers printed on it.  Since the shirt is super feminine, I finished the outfit with some combat boots and a beach bag I had bought years ago in California.

Outfit Details: Shirt by So Sik at Target, Jeans by Express, Bag by Rising International, Boots by Steve Madden, Necklace by BP at Nordstrom.

Fashion Tip:  Try pairing your favorite colored skinny jeans with a top that has the same color on it.  The end result will be an outfit that stands out and bursts with color.

My Style: British Invasion Fad

Today's Look:  is all about the U.K.  Has anyone else noticed the British Invasion that is happening? From the bands we listen to on the radio (Florence and the Machine, One Direction, Cher Lloyd, etc.) to the clothes we are wearing these days, the U.K. has seemed to have taken control.  Every store I have been in lately has had a least 3 things with the British flag on it.  After weeks of this occuring, I finally broke down and bought this shirt. I liked it because even though it is the British flag, it's subtle and bedazzled. If you know me, you know how I love things that are bedazzled.  To contrast with the black shirt, I wore bright white skinny jeans and light suede booties.

Outfit Details: Shirt by Forever 21, Jeans by MissMe, Boots & Purse by Betsey Johnson.

Fashion Tip:  Don't go overboard with the U.K. fad that is happening right now.  Eventually it will go away, and all you will be left with is a ton of items with the British flag on them and the thought of "Why did I buy this?"
