My Style: Happy Mother's Day

Today's Look:  is all about the dress.  Since it was Mother's Day, my family had reservations at a local resort for a special brunch.  The brunch was semi-formal so a dress was appropriate.  The dress has a cutout floral design on a mustard material that contrasted perfectly with the bright turquoise purse, belt, and earrings.  To keep the outfit dressy, I wore tights and nude pumps.  If the brunch had been formal, I would have worn my hair up, but since it wasn't, I wore my hair down and straightened.

My Style: Stripes and Bright Pink Tights

Today's Look:  is all about being bold with solid stripes and bright colors.  Now that it's full on springtime, it's time for dresses and crazy colors.  I couldn't wait to wear my bright pink tights, so I decided today was the day.  The dress is a deep burgundy along with black, which complimented the tights.  To tie the funky assortment together, I added a multicolored necklace that had the burgundy, black, and pink within it's design.  Finishing off the look, I wore my classic black Troopa boots and Betsey bag.

Fashion Tip:  When wearing a dress, adding tights makes an outfit more complete looking and also adds color/ detailing.  

My Style: Under My Umbrella

Today's Look:  Who said you can't look fashionable on a rainy day?  Today's outfit was almost postponed because of a random rainstorm, but instead of letting the ran ruin my photo-shoot, I adapted.  I grabbed an old umbrella from the garage, and I was more than happy to break in my new Betsey Johnson rain boots.  To pull out the red detailing from the tattoo-like designs on the boots, I wore a cozy red sweater that also matched the umbrella's floral print.  Since light jeans would show wet spots from the rain, I chose my dark navy skinny jeans that fit nicely in the waterproof boots.  I wore bright yellow Betsey earrings to finish off the look.

Fashion Tip:  Don't use a rainy day as an excuse to not look fabulous.  Buy a cute pair of rain boots and a fun umbrella, so even if the weather looks gloomy, you look amazing. 

My Style: Polka-Dotted Denim Romper

Today's Look: is all about the polka-dotted, denim romper with lace detailing.  Honestly, a week ago I strongly disliked rompers, because of the fact that I had never seen a cute one before that was flattering.  On a recent trip to Flagstaff, I went to one of my favorite local stores, P.J. Chilcottage, and found this little beauty.  The romper isn't too short (which is a problem with a lot of rompers) and it also accentuates the waist.  The polka-dotted denim material is super adorable, and then to top it off, the lace detailing makes the piece one of my favorites.  To compliment the off white lace and dots on the romper, I wore an off-white sweater, silver studded purse, and silver sandals to match.

Fashion Tip:  Now that the warm weather is officially here, it's time to show some skin.  Bring out the shorts, skirts, dresses, tank tops, sandals, flip-flops, etc. and have some fun!   

My Style: Neon Pink

Today's Look:  is all about having fun with bright colors.  The outfit is designed specifically around the dress. The dress has pink, purple, blue, yellow, orange, green, white, and black on it.  My favorite color is pink, so I chose to wear a neon pink long-sleeved shirt to make the pink in the dress pop. Since the weather here is still chilly at nighttime, I wore opaque black tights and military boots to complete the look.

Fashion Tip:  When wearing a short, girly dress, you should also wear military boots.  Adding military boots to a flirty dress makes a unique, fun outfit.

My Style: Southwest Flare

Today's Look:  is all about the warm, chic Southwest-inspired sweater.  For a chilly evening out, I wanted to wear something warm, but not bulky.  My long, thick sweater was the perfect choice.  To match the light tan color in the design and fringe of the sweater, I wore my Betsey Johnson ankle boots and a suede purse. Completing the outfit, I wore charcoal skinny-jeans, a black tank top, and a silver, sparkly pendant necklace.

Fashion Tip:  When wearing a thick, warm sweater, try pairing the piece with sleek skinny-jeans and leather boots. The look will not only be rich and classy, but also warm and functional.
