My Style: Sedona's Oak Creek

Sedona, Arizona, is one of the most beautiful places on earth.  Surrounded by red rock cliffs, crimson-colored monoliths, sycamore groves, and the clear waters of Oak Creek, Sedona offers everything from adventurous hikes, jeep tours, and kayaking to exquisite art, dining, and resorts.  Spring weather has definitely reached this lovely part of northern Arizona, so I decided to try out my new fibi & clo embellished sandals--simply gorgeous!  I was happy when the Style Director Nancy Weaver reached out to collaborate.  Check out more about the fabulous shoe and accessory company here and shop till you drop here.  I added crochet-trimmed, distressed-denim shorts, a high-low, Z-Supply acid-washed tee, and a rustic, straw cowboy hat to make this perfect casual outfit.  To complete the styling, I wore a mesh and stone necklace, stud earrings, and some tarnished metal rings.  After an excellent Spring Break, I'm trying to get my mindset back into classes and work more on my portfolio.  Have a great weekend! My Style: Grand Canyon Getaway

The majesty of the Grand Canyon can take your breath away.  For Spring Break, I took a road trip to some of the prettiest locations in northern Arizona, including the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff, and Sedona.  To tour this gorgeous area of the Grand Canyon, I wore the most comfortable tie-dye knit bells, a white crocheted-lace top, and embroidered cowboy booties.  Adding a black fringe purse, a black hat, and an intricate southwest-bohemian inspired necklace, I felt a cliff-side photoshoot was in order.  No worries, I kept a safe distance from the edge.  During this photoshoot, a crowd formed, watching my photographers and me climb to our prime location and take the photos.  Some tourists seemed more interested in the fashion shoot than the Grand Canyon. haha  It was a little nerve-wracking but flattering.  Hope you are enjoying your Spring Break or at least some spring weather.  Any fun, crazy, normal, or adventurous stories about your Spring Break?  I'd love to hear them in the comments!  Xoxo, Shelly

My Style: Effortlessly Chic

This month I was honored to collaborate with some top-notch brands, including Viparo, TFNC London, and Veeshee.  First, I began this styling with a gorgeous gold, soft-as-butter leather skirt by Viparo.  The quality of the stitching, the design, and the lining is unsurpassed.  Viparo was founded in Sydney, Australia, in 2008, filling a niche with beautiful leather designs that are affordable.  Next, I added this TFNC monochromatic, baroque print blouse, making an exquisite combination when coupled with the leather skirt.  TFNC London is known for its glamorous, sophisticated designs, especially in dresses.  I discovered this pretty blouse and knew it would be a great addition to my closet.  Adding tall boots, a floppy hat, and tarnished gold jewelry, I was ready for a perfect weekend getaway.  See my review below of the marvelous weekender bag, a custom-made beauty by Veeshee.  I hope you enjoy discovering these quality items as much as I did!  Xoxo, Shelly

Veeshee Review:

Being a frequent traveler, it's always nice to have a bag you can count on and one you know looks good with every outfit (hey, for a true fashionista, that always matters--even when traveling).  This handsome tote is that bag!  Veeshee is a unique company that offers the opportunity for the customer to customize bags, pillows, and blankets with luxurious leathers, quality linens, and beautiful craftsmanship.  Below is the custom layout for my bag.  On the user-friendly website, you can select the cut of the bag, the color of leather, the outer material, and the lining. For my Tuscany Weekender, I chose the black linen for the exterior, the copper metallic linen for the interior (seriously gorgeous metallic), and the dark brown distressed leather for the base and straps.  I absolutely love my bag and will enjoy it for many, many years.  I give Veeshee an A+!  Definitely recommend checking out Veeshee here:  http://www.veeshee.com

               

               

My Style: Now is Everything

This year is off to a wonderful start.  Classes have been tough but good, and blogging has been better than ever.  I was invited to enter a blogger contest hosted by Adidas NEO Label to show how #NOWISEVERYTHING, to express living life to the fullest in the moment and being yourself.  The challenge involved submitting two photos and one short film taken while wearing Adidas NEO Label clothes.  Their stylist sent me three beautiful pieces of clothing that I then had to style showing my own style.  For the photos and video, I wore a floral skater skirt dress, a fuzzy, black sweater, and a blue beanie all by NEO.  To stand out, I wanted to capture the uniqueness of being from Arizona, so I chose to shoot at my favorite location by the lake.  Since my personal style is urban boho, I added knee high socks and combat boots that complimented the NEO gear.  I enlisted the help of my brother to edit the 15-second Instagram video.  I was honored to have just had the chance to be a part of the contest and thrilled when they told me I had won!  The grand prize was a trip to Miami Beach to participate in a two-day photo shoot for the NEO spring/summer campaign.  It was an incredible experience, and I can't wait to tell you all about it when the campaign launches in April.  Keep an eye out in the upcoming months.  Hope you live in the present today, not regretting yesterday and not worrying about the future.
