My Style: Shabby Chic

Lately, I've had a need to feel comfortable and free, especially since my weekdays consist of sitting in class for hours.  A loose-fitting, lace dress with a cropped sweater is the next best thing to spending a lazy day in bed with Netflix. haha  I love wearing over-the-knee socks for warmth, a floppy hat for shade, and ankle boots for strolling.  Add some pretty bohemian-inspired rings and you have a great outfit.  Let me know what clothes you feel your most comfortable in.  Xoxo, Shelly

Thirty-One Gifts + Snupped Tech Accessories Reviews

Being a blogger, I have the pleasure of traveling often.  Along with packing clothes and the usual travel items, technology is very important to bring along.  Whether it's using my cellphone to post an OOTD or my computer to edit photos to make a deadline, having my equipment with me is essential.   Also, keeping my equipment safe is critical.  In collaboration with Thirty-One Gifts to review their latest handbag line Jewell, I had the pleasure of receiving the Fashion Editor tote bag to hold my technology.  This charcoal grey tote has loads of room, excellent pockets, and sturdy, handsomely pebbled faux leather.  I am very impressed with the quality.  The design is sleek and the bag isn't heavy.  It's the perfect way to travel with my laptop, laptop charger, mouse, phone, paper pads, pens, USBs, etc.

As another special treat, I was asked to design and review a custom laptop sleeve and an iPhone case from Snupped, an online company that offers customers the chance to create custom tech accessories.  For self-branding purposes, as well as fun, I used my Arizona Girl logo as my design.  The website is very user friendly, meaning even if you aren't super computer savvy or a graphic designer (like me), it would still be an enjoyable shopping experience.  The website had stunning designs for sale if you aren't looking to design your own piece.  I was excited to design my own however.  Snupped provides the dimensions of images required for best results.  I followed the directions and am thrilled with the result.  The laptop sleeve coloring is vibrant, the photo is crisp and clear (no pixilation), and it provides nice padding inside for protection of my device.  I opted for a pocket within the sleeve for extra storage and I love it.  For the cellphone case, it fits my new iPhone like a glove and it looks beautiful.  I definitely recommend the laptop sleeve and cellphone case.

Fun fact:  I truly put the tote bag, laptop sleeve, and cellphone case to the test;  during this photo shoot the bag was accidentally knocked off a tall stone ledge onto hard cement, but all my equipment and bag were unscathed!  Hallelujah.  I rate Thirty-One Gifts and Snupped an A+!

My Style: Blue Da Ba Dee

H appy Thursday, everyone!  The month is coming to an end, and to finish it fabulously, here is my fourth #CharlotteLook for January.  The ensemble consists of a paisley print, shift dress with lovely crochet detailing on the sleeves, over-the-knee socks, tall boots, and a black hat.  Along with the crochet detailing, the dress has a beautiful cut-out back and shoulder design.  I always love finding unique pieces to add to my wardrobe.  The look is perfect for the warmer weather we have been blessed with lately.  I can't wait till spring is officially here.  BTW, if you're a 90's baby, you will probably be singing the song Blue (Da Ba Dee) in your head for the next hour. . . Sorry.  haha  Hope you all have a wonderful Friday and weekend!  Xoxo, Shelly

My Style: Neutrals & Denim

T
he beauty of neutrals can be appreciated when enjoying natural surroundings.  Although I love deep burgundies and blacks, I am opening up to some lighter colors as spring approaches.  For my third #CharlotteLook (head-to-toe Charlotte Russe outfit), I styled a soft, over-sized, high-low sweater with shredded jeans that I rolled at the ankle, and the prettiest, distressed brown booties.  To accentuate the boots' gold accents, I added a gold bag and gold cross pendant necklace.  As I said in my previous post, I'm trying to experiment more with my hairstyles and had fun with a half top knot.  I'd love to hear what hairstyles you are liking for winter going into spring.  Have a wonderful Friday.  TGIF!  Xoxo, Shelly

My Style: Bell Sleeves

A fter a couple weeks of snow showers and cold winds, northern Arizona was blessed with a beautiful weekend.  The perfect weather was great for my second #CharlotteLook (head-to-toe Charlotte Russe outfit) of January!  The scarf-print romper with bell sleeves paired with the over-the-knee boots make a lovely combination.  After searching for black, over-the-knee boots for some time, I was stoked when I found this pair.  They are so comfortable and look like real leather.  I love how the intricate design of the romper really stands out against the monochromatic accessories.  Also, I had fun trying a new hairstyle.  I loosely curled my hair to create a beach wave effect and simply added 4 small braids throughout.  As you can tell, I am still loving edgy bohemian style!  I hope the warm weather is here to stay soon.  Anyway, I'm off to study for a quiz and finish up some other homework.  Hope you're all having a great weekend!  Xoxo, Shelly

My Style: Velvet and Leather

T his past weekend I traveled to California for my older brother's wedding.  This is my first January #CharlotteLook and I was so excited that I got to shoot it at a beautiful resort in Southern Cal.  I teamed up with Charlotte Russe to style head-to-toe looks.  This velvet dress was a perfect choice for the trip.  It was comfy for traveling and exploring the city and then stunning when dressed up with heels for the rehearsal dinner that same night.  I got multiple compliments from fellow bridesmaids and family members.  The studded fringe purse, moto jacket, and boots were also a hit during the day.  The whole wedding weekend was lovely and the wedding itself was a true fairytale.  I can't wait to share photos from all the festivities.  My welcome back to Arizona after the best weekend was spring semester of college starting.  Talk about UGH.  haha  Hope you're all staying happy and healthy being back at school or work after the holidays.  Xoxo, Shelly
