My Style: Black & Blue

Today's Look: has numerous amazing features.  The first is a handcrafted scarf by the ethically minded Elizabeth Koh company.  Elizabeth Koh scarves are made in Thailand with 10% of all profits donated to SOS Children's Village in Thailand, providing shelter, education, and a caring home environment to orphaned children.  In addition to partnering with Elizabeth Koh, I was honored to be asked to collaborate again with Others Follow with this beautiful lace dress. Both the scarf and the dress are quality and beauty combined--my kind of combo.  Highlighting the grey in the scarf, I accessorized with a grey tote from one of my favorite handbag companies T-Shirt & Jeans. To complete the styling, I chose a long, sweater cardigan, black sheer tights, chunky black boots, tarnished gold rings, and a cool buck bracelet. I know Halloween is coming up and some of you have emailed to ask me about Halloween costumes.  I'd love to hear what you'll be wearing.  I'm actually so busy with my college classes right now that I haven't even planned for Friday night! Hoping to hear about your outrageous costumes and fun parties in the comments, so I can live vicariously through you.  Xoxo, Shelly :)

Fashion Tip: To stay warm on a brisk, fall day, I recommend a long cardigan, a scarf, and tights.  I'm able to wear a pretty, lace dress and still stay warm.  I'd love to hear how you keep away the chill factor during this cooler fall weather.

My Style: Designer Jeans

Today's Look:  shows how a creative artist can take boyfriend jeans and make them amazingly unique.  The designer, Amanda Litzinger, has a clothing and accessories line called Stickybaby.  Amanda's creations vary from soft, furry jackets to punk, silk skirts.  I was so excited when she contacted me to collaborate and I chose these "Designer Jeans" with silver appliques of famous designers' logos, like Chanel and Gucci.  I love Amanda's bold, funky creations--she rocks!  You can shop her creation on Etsy or her website.  Another awesome part of this styling is the softest, burgundy tank top from Blush Boutique.  I've collaborated with Blush Boutique before and must say their quality and selection are primo.  The boutiques are located in Florida but all of us can enjoy the latest in current fashion trends from their online store. To the focal pieces, I added a black, over-sized sweater, a black wide-brimmed hat, black ankle booties, layered necklace, and, of course, lots of gorgeous rings.  As you know, I adore burgundy with black and just had to wear the color combo on my birthday.  Yep, I turned 21 today and can't wait to celebrate with family tonight.  Hope you are having a wonderful day! Xoxo, Shelly

Fashion Tip:  When wearing a tank top with over-sized armholes, it's a good idea to wear either a pretty cami or lacy bralette in a complementary color.  I wore a burgundy bralette that matched almost perfectly and added a feminine touch to an outfit with boyfriend jeans and sweater.

My Style: "O" My Gosh

Today's Look:  highlights The Home T's new tee design, which has the silhouette of the state of your choice inside the "o" of  the graphic printed "home".   The Home T was designed for two purposes—to show home-state pride and to donate to multiple sclerosis research.  I'm proud to wear a t-shirt showing my Arizona state pride but I'm even happier to know that a portion of all profits goes to finding a cure for MS.  To see my other Home T collaboration post click here.  To add edginess to this particular styling, I found this amazing ombré leather jacket.  As you probably already know, burgundy and black are my favorite duo; with the jacket, it was love at first sight.  Adding a warm beanie, black skinny jeans, and my fav chunky ankle boots, I felt just a few rings and my black cutout lace sunglasses made the outfit ready to kick it downtown.  Xoxo, Shelly

Beauty: Neutrogena Review

Because I test and write reviews about different beauty products from skin care to makeup, many of you have emailed me to ask what I use on a daily basis to keep my skin clear.  I have been a Neutrogena fan for years.  In high school, Neutrogena was a life saver or rather a face saver.  To this day, I use Neutrogena products on a regular basis before bed to keep my face clear and radiant.  I alternate between the Oil-Free Acne Wash, Rapid Clear, and the Oil-Free Acne Stress Control products.  I was very excited when the company contacted me to try their Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit products!

Results:  A
Packaging:  A
Smell:  B (Strong but good)

Like the other Neutrogena products I use, the Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit line works!  I have read other reviews in which people say due to the scent, their skin got irritated, but I have very sensitive skin and my skin didn't react negatively at all.  In fact, my skin is clean, clear, and smelling lovely.  I felt a blemish starting, but after washing my face with Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit products that night, it was stopped in its tracks and vanished.  I definitely recommend this Neutrogena line to anyone looking for a gentle yet effective face cleansing regime.
