My Style: '70s Vibes

Happy New Year, lovelies.  I wish for you all a wondrous 2016. I am braving the wintry cold in northern Arizona, which I'm sure is still much warmer than many other parts of the world right now. These photos were taken on one of our recent sunny days by an amazing photographer named Madeleine Schaffner of Madeleine Photography. We ventured on a hike to gorgeous Watson Lake in Prescott, Arizona. For this shoot, I decided to wear a flowy, gauze dress with bell sleeves accented by crocheted insets, a pretty dress designed by Others Follow. Next, I added a gorgeous sequined vest that I purchased years ago at Urban Outfitters--one of those items that you just can't leave the store without. I then selected round sunnies from Polette. As many of you know, I love over-the-knee socks with boots.  Since the dress is solid black, I decided on ivory socks with brown boots to lighten the color palette.  Another accent choice is an embroidered tote by one of my favorite bag designers T-Shirt & Jeans. Lastly, I added a fringed rawhide jacket and rawhide hat to complete the bohemian, 1970's styling.

If you ever get to Prescott, Arizona, you must see my fav three lakes:  Watson, Lynx, and Goldwater. They are all within about 15 minutes of each other and are so beautiful. If relaxing more in nature is one of your New Year's resolutions, then I hope you get to visit Prescott and may 2016 be your best year ever!  Xoxo, Shelly
