When I was younger, I loved going to the county fair with my family and friends. I would look forward to it every year. I would ride all the rides, from slow and sweet to fast and furious. I was brave with a strong stomach. Nowadays, three words come to mind when I think of the fair: dust, crowds, and loud. What happened to me? Have I really become a motion-sickened adult? Uuugh. This year, my family and I took it easy by walking around the fair, enjoying exhibits and people watching. We admired the young families who looked like they had been there for hours. We stayed for about an hour and a half to see the excitement and lights. It was beautiful. The fair was full of families and teenagers having a great time. Is it Disneyland? No. But is it something special and out of the ordinary for our hometown to enjoy? Absolutely. As we were leaving, we noted that the entrance line to get in had tripled in length, and it was long to begin with. County fair goer tip: go Thursday night to avoid the biggest crowd. I went Saturday, and it was the most crowded evening of the fair. Did you attend your county's fair this year? Xoxo, Shelly
