H E L L O, I'm Shelly. I have grown up in AZ, been through my brief cowgirl stages, and traveled all around the state; it's what I know, it's part of who I am, thus the name. My dream is to one day work in the fashion industry, move to a bigger city, and work as hard as I can until I make a name for myself. Day by day, I am one step closer to my dream. On my downtime, I love going to movies (scary ones are my favorite), traveling to new places, hanging out with friends, designing fashion, going to concerts, eating homemade tacos, dreaming of Disneyland, and of course shopping! I would describe my style as trendy and adventurous. I love trying new things. I'm still young, constantly evolving, and growing as a person, so it only make sense that my style is too. ✌
FAQs
Where are you currently located? I am currently living in Prescott, AZ.
How long have you been blogging? I have been blogging since April 1, 2013. I did not mean for my blog-iversary to be April Fools, but it does make it easy to remember.
What inspired you to start your blog? My two first loves were fashion and The Beatles. My mom has been capturing images of me styling and modeling outfits since I was 5-years old. She was a huge encouragement. I grew up in a small, conservative town where people didn't often take fashion risks or draw attention to themselves, so I started my blog after graduating high school. I always dreamed of working in the fashion industry and wearing all different kinds of clothes. Blogging was my way to connect to the vast world of fashion from my remote hometown and express myself through clothing and inspire others to do the same. I craved a creative outlet and blogging was the answer.
Who is your photographer? I have studied photography, and the majority of the time, I set up the lighting, choose the location, explain the concept or image I'm hoping to capture, and ask whoever is with me (my family members, parents, friends, etc.) to press the button. I always love collaborating with photographers and giving credit when I do. If you are a photographer that is interested in collaborating, email me at arizonagirlblog@gmail.com :)
What camera and lens do you use? The camera I used for almost 5 years of blogging is a Nikon D3200 with a 50mm lens. I upgraded in February 2018 to a Canon 6D Mark ii with a 24-70mm lens. I edit my photos using Adobe Creative Suite.
