My Style & Travel: A Day In Malibu

For spring break, my friend Hillary and I decided to take a road trip to California. We adventured through Los Angeles, Hollywood, Venice, and Malibu. Neither of us had ever been to Malibu before, so we planned a full day to explore. With some online research, we soon found the perfect Malibu destination. Paradise Cove Beach and Cafe (28128 Pacific Coast Hwy, Malibu, CA 90265) is a one-stop destination that has it all--parking, food, beach, and a pier. Heads up, the parking is $35, but the restaurant can validate your ticket if you order food that totals $30+. The validation makes 4-hour parking only $6 during the week and $8 during the weekend. Plus, the food at the café is amazing. The portions are humongous (think Cheesecake Factory but bigger). I definitely suggest sharing. They have indoor seating and tented outdoor seating. They also provide chairs that face the ocean for the best view.

Next, we headed up the hills and away from the beach. We had someone suggest that we check out Pepperdine University (24255 Pacific Coast Hwy, Malibu, CA 90263) because the view from Hero's Garden was incredible. The campus is gated, but the security is nice and let us through with a guest pass. We explained that we were visitors and we wished to see the garden. The view is incredible. I highly recommend seeing the university. The whole campus is stunning.

As expected, Malibu was absolutely gorgeous. I hope to go back there next time I'm in California. I'd love to see El Madator State Beach and Point Dume Beach. I will be sharing more adventures from my recent California trip very soon. I would love to hear your Malibu suggestions in the comments below! Xoxo, Shelly
