My Style: Summertime Sadness

Today's Look:  showcases a soft, jersey knit romper with a delicate scarf print from Charlotte Russe.  This is the most comfortable, and oh-so cute playsuit with a fitted silhouette and spaghetti straps.  I love that it's fashionable and versatile.  I've worn it on date nights, road trips and shopping adventures.  For this particular casual day, I accessorized with a sweater kimono, silver jewelry, and lace up, heeled booties.  So bummed that school starts Monday for me.  Really trying to live it up this weekend!  haha  I wish for you a beautiful day.  Xoxo, Shelly

My Style: To Dye For

Today's Look: emphasizes the charm and empowerment of bohemian beauty.  I paired a lace crop top with a tie-dye, double-slit maxi skirt and accessorized with a cool choker necklace coupled with a crystal pendant necklace.  The To Dye For Maxi Skirt from Broke Girl Style is made out of a very soft material, but has a more hip-hugging fit than I expected, so if you are looking for a less snug fit, I suggest going a size up.  I got a small and, as you may have figured out already, I'm fine with tight clothes, so I'm very pleased with mine. haha  Finishing the look, I wore an amazing black sweater shrug, and delicate, pretty ankle-crossed strap flats.  I rarely wear flats, (because I normally opt for something with a little height or for killer boots) but I have to say I adore this pair from Charlotte Russe.  Anyway, I hope that today you find a little magic in what you do.  The luxury of being comfortable while you feel feminine is the magic that makes the bohemian style so popular.  Have a beautiful day!

Product Announcement & Review: Make Up by One Direction

This week I had the pleasure of receiving early access to the limited edition make-up line by one of my personal favorite bands One Direction. The "Make Up by One Direction" collection includes three different variety boxes named after their hit albums, "Up All Night", "Take Me Home", and "Midnight Memories".  I received the "Up All Night" box, which included a metallic turquoise nail polish, pink lip stick, shimmery lip gloss, black mascara, shades of blue and taupe eye shadows, a stencil set, and a blue body crayon.  Being a 1D fan (going to their concert this September!!), I was very excited when I received my box!  The outside packaging includes a cool tin box featuring a brick design and a plastic slip with a novelty photo of the band.  Although the outside is awesome, the inside with all the goodies is even better!  The make up is displayed beautifully.  On the back of the tin's lid, ideas of make up combinations are artistically shown.  I am looking forward to trying the looks soon!  For this review, I went bold with the lipstick and nail polish, so I kept it neutral with the eye shadows.  I wore the "More Than This" beige and "Gotta Be You" taupe.  First, I would like to say that the make up not only looks fab, but also is good quality.  The nail polish paints smoothly and drys quickly.  After two coats, I was very happy with the result!  The lipstick is soft and bursting of color, while the lip gloss adds a gorgeous shimmer.  Lastly, I applied the mascara.  I have long lashes, so I am particular with my mascaras and I have to say, I was impressed.  The mascara didn't clump and made my lashes look luscious.  Overall, I give the "Make Up by One Direction Collection" an A+!

Music: Osheaga Music & Arts Festival

Noelle, Rachel, and Me

Last weekend, I had the honor of joining Garage, a Canadian based clothing company, at the Osheaga Music & Arts Festival in Montréal, Canada.  Besides the awesome music, three things made this trip magical: I had never been to Canada before but always wanted to visit, Garage is one of my favorite clothing brands, and two of my favorite bloggers Rachel of Jag Lever and Noelle of Noelle's Favorite Things were coming as well.  So when I won the Garage Festival contest, I was over the moon!  The contest prizes allowed for me to bring one person along with me, hotel paid for, a food budget, an Instax camera, and a shopping spree.  My older brother, Billy, (who is a professional photographer) accompanied me.  

The Garage crew was very welcoming and fun to be around.  It was amazing to get a behind the scenes look in the Garage headquarters and meet all the wonderful people.  It's truly incredible how much goes into a fashion company.  After the company tour and shopping spree (so we were all decked out in Garage clothing all weekend), it was off to the music festival.  Osheaga was insane!  Everywhere I turned I saw large crowds of teens and young twenty somethings dressed in their best festival looks, eating the most delicious junk/carnival food, and jamming to their favorite bands.  The energy and movement of it all was so intoxicating and like nothing I'd experienced before.  My favorite performances included Chromeo, Haim, Jack White, Kate Nash, Cherub, and Lorde.  

On top of the music being phenomenal and the fashion being fabulous, I will never forget the friendships created.  Rachel and Noelle were even cooler than I imagined and the Garage group was a blast!  I definitely had an unforgettable trip and I hope the photos below help share my journey.

My Style: Field of Flowers

Today's Look:  showcases a beautiful ivory floral open back dress by Pink Blush.  I adore a dress you can dress up with a pair of classic pumps or look BA with combat boots and a choker.  This dress does it all.  The soft, flirty material flows as you walk, and the quality double lining adds modesty.  I definitely recommend checking out Pink Blush - I'm very impressed with them!  Use discount code "ARIZONAGIRL15" to get 15% off (valid through 8/15/14).  To style the look, I added some of my favorite Steve Madden "Troopa" boots with lace socks peeping out.  Matching the boots perfectly, I chose a dark brown faux leather purse, with a broken-in vintage feel, from T-Shirt and Jeans . The jewelry is the bomb with rings galore and a unique deer head bracelet.  The pretty pendant necklace was made by one of my favorite Esty artists Lesli Neal of Firesky7.  Last but not least, I wore a black choker and was ready for a glorious day.  As some of you know, I was traveling all last week to Canada for the Osheaga Music and Arts Festival thanks to Garage Clothing!  I had such an amazing experience and I am working on the blog post next.  I can't wait to share all of my memories and photos with you.  Hope you're enjoying the last stretch of summer as well!  Xoxo, Shelly
